Bickering with right-wingers

Today I a' have been mostly debating with some pro-war right-wing Americans:

You'll have to scroll down a bit. Some of them are quite reasonable and persuasive, but most of them seem to just be making Nazi comparisons (have they never heard of Godwin's Law?) and one of them said this:

The chief goal of American foreign policy is protection of American lives and interests. In order to do so, we should support dictators if they are our dictators. When they turn against us, we should crush them.

Erk!

UPDATE: He seems to have calmed down a bit now.

UPDATE 2: Ah, it seems that true to the form of the American right, I've now been told that if I don't agree then it's because I hate America. Laughable.

Davidson rises through the rankings

Fresh from walking out on a gig because the venue had the temerity to put disabled customers in the front row, Jim Davidson has had his CCDB ranking raised once again for his recent "joke" that "If you women liked to shag a little fucking more, there wouldn't be any rape cases" (as reported in the Metro).

What a charming man. Just the sort that you want fundraising for your political party, eh?

Everything I once despised

Blimey, I never thought I'd be doing this but I've just exchanged contracts and committed to buying a house. Erp. Getting a mortgage was always one of the things that I instinctively shied away from. The whole idea of taking on a twenty-five year debt and introducing that level of inflexibility into my life gave me the screaming heebie-jeebies as little as 8 months ago, but I've changed my attitude to a lot more than just buying a house since then.

After having so much fun putting together an eighties-themed cd together, I thought I'd have a crack at an early nineties one. I don't think it really worked quite as well as "I never asked your sister out", but it's nowhere near as bad as "knobheads". Probably only of interest to the few people who normally snarf the stuff from /whairz (you know who you are).
